A little about PBIS Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support is a system of recognizing, encouraging, and rewarding the positive behavior of students at Oak Grove Middle School. Students who follow a set of school-wide expectations for all areas of the school (classroom, hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, etc) receive recognition in the form of various rewards throughout the school year.
Expectations Expectations are behaviors that are expected from all students. For example, we are expected to throw all trash into a trashcan. It is an expectation, so that is what we do.
Rewards Rewards are intended to encourage positive behaviors, and ultimately decrease negative behaviors. Teachers give daily and weekly rewards in the form or verbal praise, positive phone calls home, bell work or restroom passes, Warrior Bucks, small prizes, etc. Larger rewards are given monthly (popcorn party, movie, free dress day, etc.), and by semester.
Warrior Bucks Warrior Bucks are small tickets that are awarded by teachers when students meet classroom expectations for the week. The tickets are collected weekly for a school-wide drawing giving students a chance at additional small prizes.
School Rules: 1. Treat yourself, others, and the school with respect. 2. Follow instructions from an adult the first time given. 3. Speak at appropriate times using appropriate voice and language. 4. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. 5. Be in compliance of dress code, all day, every day.
